Student Comments About Online Learning

All students have their own reasons for learning online, and along with that, their own opinions and comments about it.  Here are some of their comments that I have collected regarding their views toward learning through online instruction.  Here are their voices.  The students speak for themselves.

One student said when asked how he liked online learning: "It is fun. It helps me do better in school." Another said, "I can learn about animals." And yet another commented, "I think that I like it better online."

Here are more comments by my students regarding online learning...

I like learning online so far because I get tokens and I buy prizes with them.

I like it because it's good for one and it's fun!

I think it's better because I don't have to leave my house especially now that it's cold and snowing.  I also think it's cool tolearn online even though I never thought about learnig online--I learned about new math words.

What I thinkj about this is that it is a very good learning session.

I think it is fun.

I like online work because I have a lot of fun learning.

I like this because I learn many different things.  I think that online education is one of the greatest things I've ever seen!!

I like it a lot because it helps you if they send something to you and you don't understand.  Then you can ask, but if they just send you the work, then you can have some trouble.  Then they can't, but if they ask their parents they can't.

I like being online because you don't get disturbed that much like you do in class and especially when it's after school because it helps with curriculum about online learning.

I think it's fun to work on for children so they can get more education so we can do better in school.

I think I like being online because I can learn a lot of things online.   When I need help I can just ask for someone to help me.  I think it's good because I can get help at home and at school and from my friends.

It really helps you.

I think maybe it's a great program.  It's my first time doing this.

What I think about online learning is that it's a great education program.

Online learning is a great educational experience filled with surprises and fun.  There are so many great teachers that help you and make this not only an educational and fun experience.  I like the tokens, too.

It is fun.

What I think about learning online is that the teachers are good because they always ask if you understand and they don't move too fast.  Also the teachers are nice.  They really break it down for me.

I feel that this is a good way for me to understand basic needs for my reading and get better understanding for me in school and also when my state exam which is called the lSAT Illinois State Accessment Test.

It's about working, reading and learning.

I enjoy working on the computer.

I think learning online is cool.

What I think is that education online is cool because they show you things like math.

I think that education online is better than staying at school all day.

I think learning online is the best thing ever.

It's great.  I like learning about the things I didn't understand.

I had a great time.  You are a very nice teacher.

I like how the teachers explain the work in detail to me because when I was taught some of the things in school I didn't quite understand it.

I can learn more.

I think it is fun, and we get to learn more and I love it.  It is fun.

Other student comments: "I like it a lot." "I'm the only student in the room so the teacher can pay more attention to me." "Me and the other student are making this." "I like it a lot, too." "I'm one of the goodest kids in school." "I like learnig online because we get to learn more and better lessons." "I like learning online because it can show me how to do things." "Because I learn more." "You can learn best by practicing every day." "I like learning online. I don't go to school. I can stay home and learn." "It's fun." "I learn more and all my teachers are nice. I think it's fun, too."

What I like about online learning is that it has helped me a lot by teaching me the math that I was learning in school.

Online learning is alright.  Sometimes I can talk to teachers if I don't get something I can ask and I can work by myself.

I have considered taking courses online, but then I realized the downsides of this.
The main reason I love high school is the fact that I get to interact with people my own age, my friends.
If I choose to take courses online instead of going to an actual school for college, I'll miss out on that opportunity.
Also, teachers and students can connect more in person.
Students can grasp more from being in a classroom and getting a hands-on approach, rather than learning from a computer at home.

Well online wasn't made available to the public at large until about 1996 and complete online teaching with no teacher or peer interaction (no school) wasn't practical until 2003 for most areas of the U.S., so you have a system in America that has been in effect for like 250 years vs. a 5 year old zero human interaction based program, yeah, I think it sounds great on paper, less and cheaper school supplies, no wasting of gas from buses, no violence or social discrimination from schools, can be easily reprogrammed to fit kids' needs better, yeah you might on average get a percent higher on the SAT and stuff, but ultimately school was made for social interaction and teacher to student learning and parents the way they are will see that the students that are able to socially interact on these programs that will score lower scores on tests and in schools and will make their kids use another program that will be teacher to student based only, the frank irony of this is students that score higher on these types of programs will make less money in real life because they will likely be totally inept at peer to peer human interaction
I'm okay with a mix of online and school, then you get the best of both worlds, but really it's a slippery slope.
P.S.  U.S. public schools are so bad at giving students a proper education you might actually be better going with an online degree from Britain or another westernized country with better education programs.

I have learned online and loved it.

I earned a degree through WGU.EDU.

I would like to teach online. I have applied to one or two such jobs.
